Digitography

How do I take a picture of my house, business, institution?

First, survey your landscape and walk around the subject of your photo from one side to another, imagining in your mind what would make the best picture. How close or far away do you want to be? What would you like to feature in your photo? A favorite tree or porch?

We’ve learned from our experience that it’s best to take a picture of your house or business from an angle rather than from straight on. Try to find the angle that flows naturally into the entranceway without being impeded by trees, signs, wires, cars, etc.

Once you feel that you’ve found the best angle, take a few shots from this position; then, move slightly to one side or the other and take a few more. If you’re still not satisfied and would like to submit more than one angle, take a few other shots from a different vantage point.

The other important factor is the light. It’s best to take photos either early in the morning or towards evening to capture the most magical lighting. Cloudy or partly cloudy days also make for good photography opportunities as it eliminates strong shadows. In the end, just try to have fun and leave the rest of the work to TLP.

Even if you can’t get the ideal photo, TLP can always remove an unwanted sign, tree or  car so that you’ll be totally satisfied. As we like to say, our computer is your paintbrush – let us put it to work for you.
