On Sunday, May 19, 2019, Rick Black will be giving an artist talk, “The Amichai Windows”: A Morning of Poetry and Art” at the Highland Park Conservative Synagogue in Highland Park, NJ.

To date, The Amichai Windows is in several major collections, including Yale University Library, the Rare Book Division of the Library of Congress and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum library.

The event, which is part of the synagogue’s Jewish adult learning series, will begin at 10 a.m. with coffee and pastries. Black will read a number of Yehuda Amichai poems in Hebrew and English as well as show images of his work and what it took to make it over the past 10 years.

Aside from the artist book itself, select prints from The Amichai Windows as well as some of Black’s own poetry books will be available for sale.

The talk is free for members; $5 for non-members; the synagogue is located at 201 S 3rd Ave, Highland Park, NJ 08904.
