British haiku writer Graham High's "The Window That Closes" - cover photoIt’s hard to convey the emotional power of Graham High’s new book, The Window That Closes, which follows his time together with his mother over the last year of her life.

Says Fereshteh Sholevar Herrman, a Philadelphia-area reader: “I couldn’t put it down until the last page. I must admit that I cried at the end. I went through the same sorrows that the author of this book did. These haiku are very powerful and tell the dramatic story with beautiful imagery.”

The book, which contains about 40 poems, won the 2012 Turtle Light Press Haiku Chapbook contest. Another contest will be held with a June 1, 2014 deadline. Penny Harter, an award-winning free verse and haiku poet, will be the judge of the next contest. To take a look at sample poems and other reviews, please just click on The Window That Closes.
