The sights and sounds of Westover will come alive this Saturday, November 22nd, at the Westover Branch Library.
The library will be displaying artistic photo paintings of the Westover neighborhood and shopping district by Rick Black as well as hosting a sound show by Alex Braden, entitled “Piece & Quiet.”
Black, a photographer, poet and book artist, has been compiling a portrait of Westover and the surrounding area over the past couple of years; eventually, he plans on making a book of photos. Braden, a sound artist, will set up a variety of speakers with sounds of Arlington for library patrons to hear; this is the first of three installments.
“It’s just a really nice way to share our art with the community,” said Black, a resident of Arlington for three years.
A reception will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. with light refreshments and a free raffle of some prints and boxes of notecards.
